We’re thrilled to give you an exclusive first look at one of our most researched credits yet: the Ferrix Credits, inspired by the gritty world of Ferrix, as seen in Andor.
These aren’t just collector’s items—they’re forged in the spirit of Ferrix itself: durable, practical, and rooted in community.
Every detail of the Ferrix Credits has been crafted using behind-the-scenes photos, high-resolution screenshots from Andor, and direct insights from designers who worked on the show. The result? A set of credits that honor the legacy of Ferrix with precision and pride.
Each coin features:
- The iconic anvil from the tower—an unmistakable symbol of Ferrix’s unity and resilience
- A Ferrix-specific credit mark on the reverse side
- Precise design, where each side of every coin—regardless of shape—is the exact same length
The Set
The Names of Ferrix Coinage
Each coin in the Ferrix set carries its own distinct name, rooted in-world and reflective of the cultural and economic systems of Ferrix:
- Gold Orrix – The highest denomination, an eight-sided coin
- Silver San – A seven-sided coin
- Silver/Bronze Harx – A six-sided hybrid coin with bronze rim and silver center
- Bronze Prakz – A five-sided coin
Although we don’t really know the value of the coins, it is always fun to learn the names of the specific credits.
Thickness
We didn’t just stop at shape and size—the thickness of each credit was purposefully engineered to match what was seen on screen and to feel authentic in hand:
- Gold Orrix & Silver San: 4mm thick; thicker and heavier than anything we’ve done in the past
- Harx & Prakz: 3mm thick; the standard thickness of our credits
This attention to physicality gives each coin a distinct feel and visual hierarchy, just as you’d expect in a functional currency system.
A Hidden Detail with Real-World Roots
Around the edge of each Ferrix credit, you’ll find the phrase “Decus et Tutamen,” written in the Ferrix Bazeese Script and etched into the rim—a subtle detail pulled directly from real-world coinage.
This Latin phrase translates to “An ornament and a safeguard,” and it has been used historically on British currency for centuries. Originally added to prevent coin clipping (a form of currency fraud where people shaved metal from the edges of coins), the phrase served both a decorative and security purpose—just as it does here.
Its presence on the Ferrix Credits adds another layer of authenticity, connecting the fictional economy of Andor to real-world minting traditions. It’s a small detail, but one that speaks volumes to collectors and lore lovers who appreciate thoughtful design.
